Sold only to the mailing list for a third of the price of the Harlan Estate, it's a terrific wine in its own right, with gentle herbal notes accenting mixed red and black cherries. Full-bodied and creamy textured, it finishes lush and long, with hints of mocha creeping in at the end.

The 2019 Maiden from Harlan Estate has a deep garnet-purple color. It rolls effortlessly out of the glass with bold notions of blackcurrant jelly, juicy blueberries, and black raspberries, followed by suggestions of rose oil, cloves, dark chocolate, and menthol, plus a hint of garrigue. The full-bodied palate is so beautifully poised with plush tannins and seamless freshness supporting the generous black fruits, finishing long and spicy.
