This blockbuster Cabernet Sauvignon boasts a show-stopping, deeply pigmented red hue in the glass. It opens with beautiful aromas of black cherry, dark chocolate, and dried bay leaf. The pallet is rich and velvety with juicy blackberry, dark fruit, and light earthy flavors that exhibit exceptional structure and depth. The finish is long and persistent with hints of olive and anise.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard is explosive and rich. Inky dark fruit, graphite, smoke, licorice, lavender and menthol all race out of the glass in a wine with breathtaking aromatics, stunning depth and mind-blowing balance. Paul Hobbs has done a remarkable job in taming the fierce Piedras tannins, which are present, but nearly buried by the intensity of the fruit. This is a fabulous showing.

A bit further west than the Dr. Crane Vineyard, with more slope, bigger rocks and a bit more protection from the afternoon sun, this vineyard has yielded a stunning 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard. It leads off with scents of cedar and baking spices, then backs those up with notes of black cherries and cassis. Full-bodied, richly textured and tannic but ripe, this finishes long, with mouthwatering fruit balanced against silky tannins. Give it a few years in the cellar and drink it over the next couple of decades.

This wine is big in flavor and full in body, warmly spiced with cinnamon and cedar notes over rich black cherries and cassis flavors. Aged in French barrels, 75% of which were new, the wine is drinkable now for its lush fruits and broad texture, but will be best from 2025

This has power but is reserved in style, with dark currant preserves, plum puree and black cherry reduction notes laced with singed alder and sweet tobacco. A subtle iron note chimes gently through the long finish, which fleshes out steadily as this airs. Best from 2023 through 2038. 392 cases made.

Lots of red and black fruits, dried flowers, and savory earth-like minerality emerge from the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard, a ripe, sexy, medium to full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon. Coming from a great site outside of St. Helena, this balanced, layered, sexy 2019 is perfect for drinking over the coming 10-12 years
