The nose is evocative of fleshy fruit (peach, nectarine) with discreet citrus and floral notes (jasmine, violet). Full-bodied and generous on the palate with very distinct marly minerality due to the micro-terroir. Immensely fresh, light, and supple with hints of oak and exceptional length.

This wine is the perfect match for the noblest fish or shellfish, lightly pan-fried or in a cream sauce. If enjoyed when aged, it is a fine accompaniment for farm-raised chicken in cream sauce.

The best Chablis I ever tasted. Clean, fresh and full of minerals and subtle fruit. Simply amazing!

As hoped for, this is another fantastic example of the special qualities of Moutonne, with great intensity of pear and apple fruit, with a faint tropical edge. Despite the concentration the fruit is pure and the focused acidity keeps the palate fresh and wanting more. The oak is barely noticeable and the wine finishes with a chalky, dry note which adds even more to the appeal. Very, very classy.

The 2020 Chablis La Moutonne Grand Cru has a spicier bouquet compared to its peers. It's nuanced in style, and lemon thyme and flint hints emerge with aeration. This blossoms in the glass, unlike the Vaudesir bottling. The palate is taut and crisp. It's tensile with a fresh, edgy, mineral-driven finish that delivers stem ginger and lemongrass touches on the aftertaste. There is lovely sapidity here; this is one of the top wines from Long-Depaquit this vintage. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Once again there is good Chablis typicity to the ripe but cool and reserved aromas of dried orchard fruit, anise, acacia and orange peel that are also trimmed in enough wood to mention. There is an appealing tension and refinement to the succulent medium-weight flavors that are supported by lemon-tinged acidity on the refreshingly dry finale. This is firm enough to need at least a few years of patience though I underscore that it has the depth of material and balance to reward a decade plus.

Leads with lemon, lemon oil and vanilla aromas and flavors, with an underlying stony note. Borders on oily in texture, with a hint of lanolin. The lemon theme returns on the finish. Drink now through 2029. 751 cases made, 75 cases imported.
