The colour is ruby with garnet red hues. The aroma is intense, with clear scents of rose, vanilla, spices and roasted nuts and a vague hint of absinthe. It is a robust wine, with good body, full and elegant taste, soft and enveloping tannins. Pleasant spicy and woody notes that merge perfectly together. It goes well with traditional egg pastas from the Langhe (tajarin), meat-stuffed ravioli, red meats, boiled meats, braised meats and game. It is ideal for sipping alongside sheep and goat toma cheeses and hard ripened cheeses.

Cannubi in great form here. Plenty of fragrance, as well as aromas and flavors of spice-coated red cherries with oak adding further interest. The palate has a supple, suave feel to it. Really cruises smoothly into the finish.

This is one of three single-vineyard expressions from Marchesi di Barolo. The 2014 Barolo Cannubi shows rich and dark color saturation with pretty ruby highlights. That color comes from the well-draining soils of Cannubi that help to concentrate the wine's elegant appearance, aromas and flavors. There is balance and harmony in this vintage, especially where those bright berry aromas are concerned, and the mouthfeel is polished and compact.

A lighter style, revealing a core of black cherry, plum, white pepper and leafy, eucalyptus flavors. Finishes long and harmonious, with pointed tannins and fresh acidity. Best from 2021 through 2035.

Subtle aromas of French oak, espresso, coconut, sage and balsamic notes take shape in the glass. The taut ethereal palate offers raw berry, star anise, rosemary and coffee bean alongside bright acidity. Close-grained tannins leave a somewhat drying dusty finish.

The 2014 Barolo Cannubi offers limited depth and complexity in this vintage. There is god silkiness and pliancy to the red tone fruit, but that is not enough to make up for the wine's lack of depth or structure.
