Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Red Blend Shift gives very pretty scents of violets and roses over a core of black cherries, cedar chest, dark chocolate and tapenade. Medium to full-bodied, it delivers mouth-filling black fruits with plenty of floral accents and a firm, grainy frame, finishing on a refreshing note.

Plush and perky, with layered black cherry, toasted sage and licorice flavors that build tension toward fine-grained tannins. Zinfandel, Barbera, Grenache, Petite Sirah and Carignane. Drink now through 2023.

A kitchen sink blend of 35% Zinfandel, 30% Barbera, 13% Grenache, 12% Petite Sirah, and 10% Carignan, the 2016 Shift sports a healthy purple hue to go with a ripe, sexy, medium to full-bodied style carrying lots of uber-ripe black fruits, candied violets, baking spices, and licorice. It's a big, expansive mouthful of a wine that says nicely balanced and relatively light on its feet. Drink this pleasure-bent fruit bomb over the coming 3-4 years.
