Very tightly focused on the nose, this bottling by Doug Margerum, shows Meyer lemon pith, crushed seashells, lime skin and a hint of honeysuckle on the nose. It's extremely zippy and racy on the palate, with a taut texture that conveys flavors of kumquat, lemon-lime and butter-brushed Asian pears.

Rich and fruity, featuring apple, pear and melon flavors that are finely textured. Lemon curd notes emerge midpalate, with a finish that lingers with nutmeg accents. Drink now through 2022. 225 cases made.

The ambitiously priced 2016 Barden Chardonnay starts strong with a pretty nose of apples, pastry cream and popcorn. On the palate, the wine is glossy, medium-bodied, bright and pure, but while it has plenty to recommend it, it's let down by a lack of depth, complexity and persistence.
