Eighth Maker is a celebration of my family’s heritage brought full circle, the name a nod to my stepping in as Beringer’s eighth winemaker 139 years after my great-great-grandfather Jacob and his brother Frederick founded this winery. This wine is produced from the Beringer estate’s most prestigious vineyards and is a culmination of over a century of crafting iconic Napa wines. Lush, balanced, and with excellent potential for aging, Eighth Maker is both an achievement and a homecoming." - Mark Beringer

About as good as a Napa Cab gets. I Tasted with Mark on a virtual tasting and was 100% blown away. Perfectly balanced with explosive fruit, tannins, mint, mocha, cedar and spice. Like a blueberry pie collided with a plum and liquorish. - KK

“A dark and seductive cabernet, this has stunning forest berries and enormous concentration and freshness. But, as delicious as it is now, this is also built for the long term. Great finish, where the interplay of fruit and fine tannins is complex. Goes on for minutes with dark berries, blackberries and hot stones. A core of greatness. A new wine to give a nod to the eighth winemaker of Beringer, Mark

Produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon 8th Maker is a fantastic example of a top-notch Napa Valley Cab. It comes bounding out of the glass with exuberant scents of warm cassis and blackberry pie with subtle hints of dried Provence herbs, fertile loam, coffee, yeast extract, olives and crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, the generously fruited palate delivers plush-yet-firm tannins with seamless freshness and a lingering minty lift on the finish. 1,000 cases were made.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon 8th Maker is a tiny production, special cuvée by this estate that’s based on 100% Cabernet Sauvignon brought up in 80% new French oak. This beauty is a massive, full-bodied Cabernet that boasts a saturated purple color, classic crème de cassis fruit, loads of chocolate, espresso, and tobacco notes, building tannins, and a deep, opulent, powerful style on the palate that needs to be tasted to be believed. It shows the purity and classic style of the 2016 vintage yet certainly brings serious power and richness. It can be drunk any time over the coming two decades or more.

Proud of its fruit, with warmed cassis, blackberry reduction and candied plum notes taking center stage against a backdrop of melted black licorice and Christmas pudding flavors. Very plush and velvety in feel, showing a light graphite shading on the finish that gives this form and structure. For fans of the style. Drink now through 2030. 1,000 cases made.

Made to honor Mark Beringer, the historic producer's eighth winemaker, this bold, 100% varietal wine is generously steeped in rich cherry fruit that is hugely concentrated and powerful. Dusty baking spice and cocoa powder add to a breadth of supple mouthfeel and lasting intensity. Enjoy best from 2024-2030 and good luck removing the wax.
